West Country recumbents are usually good for small tyres but I notice they don't list the Ultremo on their website: http://www.wrhpv.com/ukshop/tyres/index.html They might be able to order them though.

I am using Duranos on one of my bikes at present and quite like them. I haven't noticed any sluggishness but certainly Ultremos are designed for speed (at the expense of longevity, unfortunately).

Hi

I've used Schwalbes UK online store before: http://store.schwalbe.co.uk/  - excellent service and quick responses.

Carol Hague at WestCountry has been helpful, quick, and usually their prices are good.

The 406 Marathon Plus is some £9 cheaper from them than the Schwalbe site!

i use derano on my vana hand bike 451, catrike 451 and ice trike 406; i run them all at 90psi i found that with higher pressure than this i was slower on a unsuspended trike.
you are limited with 451, this is why a lot of people order there catrike with 406 wheels.

Bikefix usually have them in stock - nothing wrong with Duranos, I once tried an expensive American 37mm one but the sidewalls just went in no time.

Sorry to sidetrack the tread but.
Can anyone advise me where to get a 451 alloy rimmed wheel? Have bought an alloy rim from Chain Reaction cycles but cannot get any advice on spokes/hubs. Ideally would like to buy a complete wheel to save any faffing about.

To be quite honest this could be an opportunity to change to 406.

On my original Trice I did this with absolutely no adverse effect.

It also opens up a wider range of tyres and was a choice I did not regret
