Looks like tricky conditions for them. Early break by Brazilian, taking the crowd.
It is simpler than it looks.

Peloton at 30km/hr on the flat. Is it windier than it looks?

At least 3 punctures in the first 20 minutes.

Not easy conditions for sure. Here (w4) we have had a very hefty shower, and it's quite breezy out.  Some of the riders have some pretty deep rims that might make their life interesting if the wind is difficult in Surrey.

Great to see the crowds are still sizeable despite the conditions.

Fingers crossed for GB success - with the disappointment of yesterday, I think a win for GB today could do a lot for the profile of women's road racing in the UK.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

It is absolutely hissing it down here, and fairly breezy, just been outside cheering them on.

Glad there is life here for the ladies race!
We have it on the rather wonderful BBC Olympic channel 3 HD, although my girls seem rather disbelieving of my suggestion that this could be them in 12 yrs time.
I'm rooting for all the Civil Engineers in the peleton.

Who is Christian Armstrong...?

Not Lance's ex.

I've been very impressed with Van Dijk, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellen_van_Dijk
It goes to show that Box Hill is a power climb, although the cool conditions help explain how a 6 footer is climbing so well.

Vos's Cyclo Cross expertise should stand her in good stead in the conditions.

Nice to see that the commentators are relying people with stopwatches and mobile phones for time gaps.

Feck me.
Family have bounced me off so they can watch the diving.
BBC 1 on the iPad seems about 1 minute behind the live coverage.
