"Up the Uts" 100/200 from Henham on 16/03/2013
« on: 01 March, 2013, 08:35:42 pm »
I received the routesheet for the 200 today. If anyone has it translated into a gpx then I'd appreciate a link. If not, I'll translate it myself and post a link to my creation.
What on earth am I doing here on this beautiful day?! This is the only life I've got!!

Chris smith has posted the GPS track from last years uts. No idea if route has changed . Do a quick google and you'll find it.

He he , I post my gps tracks online and often forget I've done it. I'm riding this one, so will probably map it out. I prefer that, as it helps me relate the instructions to where I am on the mapping.

Just tracked out the 100 in two loops:

http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/uputs100-1
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/uputs100-2

I couldn't accurately pin down the Gravesend or Little Chishill infos, but everything else should be right.

Cheers. However, the 200 km ride seems to only use one of those loops. This is my interpretation of the routesheet.

I think it was Greenbank who said you don't need a route sheet for these rides, just a flow chart.

Been to Thaxted? If yes, go to Finchingfield, if no go to Thaxted.
etc.

We'll be there, comparing our data to last year and trying to make a VAM of 600. I loathe the area, it's very easy to overdose on that particular corner of Essex and I've done just that, having a pretty low boredom threshold. I can't even look forward to the Uts catering as it'll be a) one of my pet hates- scrabbling for change and b) unsuitable for my silly restrictive diet. Oh well. More grist for the audax-as-self harm mill, then.

I plan on being there. Since I've been ill for the last ten days, and found a stroll along the seafront a major challenge yesterday, I'm not sure how fast I'll be.
Have you seen my blog? It has words. And pictures! http://ablogofallthingskathy.blogspot.com/

It does indeed have 3 loops. I've probably got a GPS from a prior year, so long as the route has not changed

I'll take a look, I didn't think the route changed, but maybe it has this year.

We are blessed with a fantastic network of lanes over which we can route you. As is our policy the route changes every year so we will take you to some "pastures new".

Though as fboab said, I think that implies a new remix rather than a fundamentally new experience.

What they haven't built some new lanes since last year? Outrageous!

...+1 and I've lived there most of my life....Now you know my penchant for the Fens ;D The 'Uts route does vary though; some years it makes my day to ride a lane that's new to me.

It's the Stevenage events that are the Ugley Nasty rides. Nasty is just west of the A10 at Braughing.
