Author Topic: WANTED: Light and sound show technician at the Camden Fringe 2016  (Read 1220 times)

My friend Gus is doing his show for a week at the Camden Fringe and he needs somebody competent enough to follow simple instruction to do the light and sound desks.   It's really easy and I often do it but I'm not planning to stay in London for the week.

He's offering to pay if necessary.   Don't expect mega bucks but it will be at least a tenner per hour I believe.   He will need his receipt book signed for payment.

I think that the job would suit a suitable young person with summer holiday time on their hands but hey, what do I know.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Required: Show Technician (lighting and sound)

Dates: Monday 22nd August – Saturday 27th August

Location: Hampstead Road, Camden, London

Pay: negotiable

The show is on Monday to Saturday 7:15pm – 8:10pm plus a tech rehearsal 2pm – 6pm on Monday 22nd August.

Each show will be 1 hour's pay. The tech rehearsal will be 4 hours pay.

The sound has already been recorded so the applicant just needs to turn up to the theatre at the appropriate times.

No experience necessary, it is not a complicated light/sound plot.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're interested or know of somebody who is please contact me through the forum or use my mobile or email at the foot of this post and I will put you in touch with Gus.

Much obliged.

I know someone perfect for that he is 17 and has run light and sound for local shows (did all the organising as well for some), did work experience on sound and light for Cats in the West End too. Currently doing an A level in Theatre and Television. Unfortunately the lad in question lives 200 mile north of London.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Oh sure I know quite a few people. Most like Jess who helped out last time.

I'll let Boy Wunja know. He is qualified on sound and I know he has experience with lighting.

Much obliged.

The worst possible scenario is that I have to hop on the train every day and also miss the Not The Mildenhall camping weekend as a result.   mllePB is understandably quite miffed.

Bump.

He says that he might pay more than a tenner per hour if necessary but he obviously has a limit.

I had a chat with Gus yesterday evening and he is willing to pay £12 per hour for the week.   Ten hours work (tech review 4 hours included) that's £120 to a willing volunteer.

Any takers before I have to book those cheap advance fares?

I am out at court with a client today so I'll check back later.

I shall ask TGL.  Ironically, he has some paid work as a muso at the moment, so I'd have to check it doesn't clash.

My nephew might have been a possible, but he's currently up where I saw Gus perform.
It is simpler than it looks.

Sorry.  Both TGL and his friend were keen, but both busy during that period. :(

I believe that, thanks to Butterfly, the position is now filled.

Phew.  Now to see if we can get to Wing, or not!
