Kismet,   my father was taking one of our dogs to the vet, and this beautiful cat had been abandoned in a cardboard box outside the surgery, she now lives with my parents and two large Rottweilers...

Say hello to Frankie (to be confirmed), s/he was rescued from a homeless guy who was mistreating her. She's tiny but has ginormous fur and huge claws. I say she but we don't know yet, her furs too long to check  we've only had her half a day but already she's gone from being scared of everything to snuggling up in the sofa, though she's still terrified of boots. Never heard a kitty purr so loudly.

She even used the litter tray in the bathroom first time. Funniest moment was when we left her alone to get accustomed to the place as we went out to get food, litter etc. Came back to find her missing. After an hour of panic she finally reared her head of the of the cable tidy cut out in the shelving unit, the only access is through a 5cm hole. Oh and she loves attacking my spds ::-)

Better cut her claws then, or wear two pairs of kecks.
It is simpler than it looks.

So he's a boy. Just had his first bath, completely calm, incredibly so. Didn't once try to run away.

Almost back to his usual self. Seems to be a massive Mac fan lol. Though I think it's cos they are warmer bodied than the pc laptop in the room lol.

First & last bath surely?
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

He honestly didn't seem to mind, not even the shampoo.

Gods, you washed a cat, and managed to get photographs of it? (and with no evidence of any blood)

Talisker is the most chilled out cat I know, and I had to use gardening gloves to bathe him, and I still ended up with the only scratches he's ever given me.  :-\

He looks very cute, and must be incredibly laid back. :)
Actually, it is rocket science.

Eeep, poor Mia, and poor you.  I hope they're able to keep her comfortable as long as possible.

Poor puss. :( Cat's with light fur/skin are apparently prone to this, and we should put sun block on their ears.

If they lose part or all of their ears, it must have an impact on their interactions with other cats, since ears seem to be so involved in, at a minimum, some significant body language, and possibly more subtle communication that we don't understand.

I'm just thankful that Talisker is as black as a very black thing, so I don't need to attempt to put sun block on him. :-\

Emmie (half a nose removed for similar reasons) sends her best wishes, and says that it really doesn't stop you from being a proper cat at all.  :-*

Mia is very placid, and seems not unhappy with life. She's become quite stiff in her old age and is not the perfectly groomed puss she once was.
I haven't seen her for more than 6 months and the winter has taken it's toll. Her (litter) sister Maudie died 3 years ago. Nothing lasts forever.

Of course both Emmie and Mia would be stuffed in nature, so they're doing a lot better as pets than they would have done in the wild.

(Aside from being spoilt rotten and given all the cat food that they can eat!)
