The metal signs are usually fitted by County council Highways dept. The stickers will have been done by a Sustrans volunteer.
In Ely we had to alter the Council NCN 11 signage as it directed you round in circles.
They also produced Ely Cyclemaps with the route of NCN 11 incorrect - the county cycling officer had marked it where he thought it went rather than check the paperwork for the agreed route, or actually follow the signs.
