Title: BiFold garage (bike store) doors?
Post by: aidan.f on 19 November, 2018, 01:05:26 pm
I'm looking at replacing a single width up n'over door with something better. As the garage is also a workshop I was wondering about doors rather than an insulated roller. (Bulky) Having a⁦ cill should not be a problem, full width doors would be useful. Cost, within reason is not an issue. Any suggestions?

We had the up-and-over door on our rear garage (used for bikes and storage) replaced with a pair of wooden doors that open out (obviously you need the space for them to open out). Our workman had to make a frame on the grounds it seems our garage opening doesn't match any available door size. The result is pleasing enough. I can't remember the cost, about £250 for the doors and another couple of hundred for the fitting, frame, painting etc.

Our other garage has coated metal swing-out doors. They must date back to about 1988 when it was built and are still in good nick. The wooden ones need occasional painting but look, imo, nicer.
