« on: 20 January, 2011, 09:20:59 am »
Just a little post on here to ask if any YACF members know of any cheap accomodation for the Reading 200kms event in the surrounding area of where the events starts in Grazeley.
Climb every mountain, onwards and upwards.
Next event:- ??????

The travelodge at the services on the M4 is the usual place I book.

As Rich says, the M4 Travelodge ticks the box. I found Westbound both cheaper, and has better access for cyclists. The Access Only track for the services has a barrier here that you can easily navigate and get to the road.

Can anyone please confirm that either of the Reading M4 Travelodges, Eastbound or Westbound are still accessible by bike.
Cheers.

Most motorway services have service road access from a side road as well as access from the motorway.
Reading Westbound off Deans Copse road and eastbound from Burghfield road looking at Gmaps https://www.google.com/maps/@51.4235762,-1.0329282,16.28z
