Hammock anyone?

Anybody here use a hammock (as in instead of tent) and tarp? It seems quite popular over the pond but maybe they have more available trees than us??

Never used it - I guess it's the arboreal version of a bivvy bag. I would prefer a tent. All I can say is:
Cry hammock and let slip the dogs of snore!

I have one, and have used it a few times. Not with the bike though, as I don't do much cycle camping. Did take it to the Tandem Club rally mind.
It's a
DD Frontline
with built in mozzy net and double bottom for a sleeping mat.
Very comfortable. Very stable.

that's whats worrying me! - I'm trying to remember if there are any suitable areas after Bala on the 6A ??
