Wall clips

I have a pair of crutches from an old injury (was cheaper to just buy the crutches, than pay towards the excess on my health insurance). They are useful to have around, so I've not got rid of them, but their current home of lent against the fire extinguisher in the hall way is annoying me.

I have a small amount of wall space, and i'd like to mount them on the wall using a clip that isn't too hard to undo, but is big enough to hold the 25.5mm diameter of my crutches, without scratching all the paint work off.

Has anyone come across a suitably designed clip?

Their 84002 model with rollers would seem perfect. The £15 minimum could be a bit steep for the quantity you want.

Same as above but only a few quid (they're called Terry Clips - as made by the Terry Company - who IIRC used to make bike saddles and those clips that fitted to front forks to carry a tennis racquet or hockey stick)

They were my first thought (tho I didn't know the proper name for them), except thought they'd scratch the paint too much...

How about fixing some old hard disk magnets to the crutches, then they can 'stick' to the fire extinquisher?

I think that you'll find that they aren't robust enough - they're designed to hold a pipe in position permanently ... not as the OP may want to use them (the clips are similar to those that hold kitchen unit kickboards in position.

... and as for scratching with the Terry clips - I have some holding a few tools in my workshop and have covered the inner face with tape to preserve the paint and chrome finishes on the tools.

Because in the event of a fire, I don't want to have the crutches attached to the thing I'm trying to put the fire out with... Also I'm trying to move them away from where the fire extinguisher is, to another wall of the hallway.

You could bend them out slightly and line them with something soft like foam.

Plastic coated terry clips are widely available and probably wouldn’t scratch the paint at all
