Cake tins

I need some new cake tins. (I left my old ones in the UK). What should I look for when buying new tins?

Heavy weight. I would not personally worry about non-stick, instead I line with baking parchment, YMMV. The heavy weight enables better dispersion of heat, but actually it doesn't matter that much for yer average cake.

Seconded, but I just don’t like flimsy tins that buckle easily hence preferring heavier weight, and nicely rolled rims. . Oh, and we have one for the annual fruit cake that has a loose bottom that is double skinned. Means less likelihood of burning in a 3-4 hour bake.

We have one of those metal ones with sides which undo and the bottom falls out, which works okay, and a silicone one, which to my surprise seems to work better in terms of both baking and non-sticking.

But mostly you should look for cake.
