The Devilishly Elegant 600 is ready to go with #wills_hills galore!

Entry & full details: https://www.pedalution.co.uk/events/devilishly-elegant-600/

7-8th May 04:00 | £15 | 42h34 | 10.25AAA

I've organised Y Pengwern @ Llan Festiniog to stay open late with food included in the cost.
Also Two Hoots Tea Room @ Devil's Bridge will be open early from 06:00.

Journeying up through England and back through Wales. It’ll test your legs and your mental fortitude but the scenery will pay dividends. Do you accept the devilishly elegant challenge? A perfect warm up for BGB 1600!

4am Starts are my favoured ones, BUT only if riding a DIY from HOME.    Everyone else apart from Will has to travel to get to the Start.      5am seems a good compromise

I may be really mixed up here, but is Gary Harris a chap who did the 2017 LEL on fixed?  If so, I saw him when I was helping at Eskdalemuir.  Whoever it was certainly had an ELEGANT equipage - practically pared down to a Reg Harris-era sprint bike.  Maybe this is part explanation of the ride name.

Then there would be no late night food available. And in all honesty most will get back late Sunday so would you rather drive home after the event and recover with 2 less hours before work in the morning? Or go to bed Friday 2hrs earlier?

Pretty sure Gary didn't ride LEL in 2017 unless I missed something, though he does sport a fixed gear bike with an SP dynamo hub fitted to the rear just because....

As to the name Devil's Bridge & Elan Valley are the links.

@will, above,

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.  The title didn't cause me any problems, having done Yr Elenydd (and I do crosswords and am a secret agent - though that's a secret....).  I just saw Gary Harris on the "poster" and thought, "I'm sure I know that name."  Obviously, it's not the chap I was thinking of but he was certainly elegant!

Cheers

Peter
