All,

Entries for these ride are now slowing coming in and although I don't use a village hall on these events, riders should expect the same standard of food being served (less Beans on Toast) at Thursley and Steyning.

Entries closes on July 7th

All,

The closing date for these two rides is now July 12th.

I’ve also been checking the Byway used to go round the Devils Punchbowl. The NT have been expanding their car park which affects the initial pathway. We also now have two cattle grids to deal with. Both fully installed with gates / fences either side.

The welcome letter, I’ll be sending out to riders the week before the event, will include details of these changes. It will also be covered in my pre ride safety brief

One bit of good news after all the years cycling this event I can confirm that behind the NT cafe there are toilet open to the public.

*** STOP THE PRESS ***

Having always worried that we would get washed out using the side of the old A3 near Thursley, I only discovered last week while route checking that there is a village hall and have never noticed it after years of cycling through. Since the hire rate is very reasonable, I intend moving the roadside control to the hall. This year I will not be doing any hot food but will consider for 2023.
