My sister told me the other day that she and BiL had bought their house from a woman called Priscilla, who happened to be the daughter of, not Elvis, but Rev Awdry, author of those annoying-cute stories of anthropomorphized trains. Priscilla doesn't sound anything like a name for a train, but she has two boys: Thomas and Edward. I'm not actually sure which is cause and which is effect; were the books written for the grandchildren or the kids named for the books?
Ed: Just looked at the Wikipedia page, which says the stories were first told to his son Christopher, so the grandchildren must have been named after their grandfather's famous creations.
