Oh no !   I'd always heard that as "Bless my cotton socks I'm in the nude."

Not an entirely unreasonable assumption when it comes to Julian Cope.
Indeed

And, sorry, Hatler :(
Getting there...

"I spill my tea- oh silly me"
"You drink your coffee, I sip my tea"

"Or will you just politely say good night"

Theme tune to my youth.

Which in turn reminds me of:

Quote
And you wish you could be Brian Jones
But now he's just a heap of bones
That's one better than you, you're a loser

Reminds me of the excellent "Righteously" by Lucinda Williams

Don't cause me pain
Be my lover don't play no game
Just play me John Coltrane

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

'And the christening party arsehole who hitherto had blurred / my conception of man as nature's final word / was fleeing from the lava, his satnav pleading thus: / "I'm not from round here, mate, you should have caught the bus"'

Best song about the apocalypse ever.

'Your charmless associates' is a beautiful putdown too.
"The future's all yours, you lousy bicycles."

I was listening to The Bluetones' first album for the first time in ages.  Some of their lyrics are poetry.

"Time rolls along and teaches us nothing"

"You've walked between the raindrops for far too long"

"Everything she had, she handed to you, and what she didn't give you, you stole"

Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

Forgiven the fact it is two lines for and because it is a contender for best title ever. And Steve Winwood.

Sometimes the only quarters between you and a rainstorm are the quarters of the moon.

Might be two lines, too, Working Week.
