Did anyone else notice that Dez waited for the MEMWNS thread chatter to quieten down with DL's hiatus, and therefore Ted not baiting him, before taking the yacf server offline for maintenance??

Market hill is fine on fixed provided you can keep moving.  Short, sharp shock.  If you're lucky,  there's traffic at the mini-roundabout at the top and so you can stop for a cheeky breather.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

I think we should leave ted alone. He's doing a noble thing trying to find a 6th Form College for DL.  It's very important that our small young people are properly educated.

Given your nautical connections could you not get him a job as a midshipman on a man'o'war?  "Mid-Essex expects ..." etc.

I've paid a visit to the Fig Tree, just across the road from,

You'll note that there isn't a lot/any bike parking! You have a lampost outside the venue and just across the road outside the Police station you'll find a few Sheffield Stands. one of which is occupied with a dead BSO.

For some reason, I heard that post in the same way that line is delivered in the chorus of The Four Tops "Reach Out - I'll Be There."

I then got to thinking how apt for the dark moments on a long ride the first two verse's lyrics are...

For the brain-dead, spaced-out, sleep-deprived, short-of-time:-

Quote
"Now if you feel that you can't go on (can't go on)
Because all of your hope is gone (all your hope is gone)
And your life is filled with much confusion (much confusion)
Until happiness is just an illusion (happiness is just an illusion)
And your world around is crumbling down, darlin'"

and for the navigationally-challenged on chilly overnight sections:-

Quote
"When you feel lost and about to give up (to give up)
'Cause your best just ain't good enough (just ain't good enough)
And your feel the world has grown cold (has grown cold)
And your drifting out all on your own (drifting out on your own)
And you need a hand to hold, darlin'"

You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

^^^  I worry about you.  Quite a lot in fact  ::-)

Given the the wetness we have endured over the last few hours I'm beginning to think the Blackwater Rail Trail may not be the cleverest idea for this evening.

I don't think midshipmen in Nelson's navy had much in the way of facial hair as many of them were about 12 years old!

Highly variable pedal cadence, interfering with brain-wave frequency?

Are we reverting back to your original published route then OD (at least the first part) but ridden backwards so we make the micropub in good time before closing?

Will Carlos be giving you tuition in how to ride backwards before you set off ?

It should be easier for Tomsk, Oaky and Ian (the something commuter) riding crazy fools' bikes as they are.

I am hoping that normal service will be resumed as from this evening  O:-)

I saw no press gang on my commute, I did however experience a lot of water falling from the sky!  :demon:

Will we see you out on the imaginary fixed bike anytime soon?
