I was looking for information about a mid-20th century Californian architect, Joseph Eichler, which led to a NY Times magazine article. Then I browsed around the NYT mag and found this:

Release healed manatees back into the wild. Of course, unless you’re trained and permitted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, you should not handle manatees at all.

I guess it's a change from Florida 'gators.

A Louisiana woman who’s gone viral as the “Gorilla Glue Girl” is considering a lawsuit after spraying her hair with ultra-strong adhesive.

TMZ reports Tessica Brown has hired an attorney and is discussing possible litigation against Gorilla Glue. She reportedly spent 22 hours in the emergency room at a hospital after she used the company’s heavy-duty Spray Adhesive when she ran out of the hair spray she usually uses, Got2b Glued.

“I figured if I used the Gorilla Glue – you know, by the time I got home, I could have just washed it out,” she told a Toronto radio show. “But when I tried to wash it out, it didn’t move.”

Brown says her hair has been rock-solid for a month now, despite efforts to remove the glue with rubbing alcohol. TMZ reports her ER trip also failed to help, as healthcare workers tried acetone and it burned her scalp, only briefly softening the glue before it hardened again.

Words fail me. That a law suit can even be considered means there’s something wrong with the legal system over there.
For every complex problem in the world, there is a simple and easily understood solution that’s wrong.

She's probably desperate for a way to pay the bill for her ER visit and various other medical expenses. 22 hours in an American ER wouldn't be cheap. No mention of whether a court has agreed to hear the lawsuit, which would indeed indicate a real problem with the US court system.

That'll ensure the product usage description is changed to indicate only those things that should be attempted with said product, and anything else is at your own risk.

Lots of Dutch people out playing on the ice this week. Some however did not heed the warning given earlier this week about making sure the ice is thick enough:

And if anyone is wondering how thick the ice needs to be, alaska state parks have produced this handy guide:

Anybody can sue and in the USA they usually do.  I'd be more interested in the levels of success.  Actually no, I'm seriously not interested in narcissistic litigation and the outcomes.

Yanks just love to pull their litigation chains.
