Don't know, but probably not. The alphabet is the same but not the language. An Urdu speaker I used to work with liked to describe Urdu as "this funny language that looks like Arabic and sounds like Hindi". Yes, it's not exactly Arabic script, but near enough.

I've overpaid my gas and electricity bill by a staggering £270 and am getting a refund. Clearly freezing our bits off all winter to save dosh and the environment has reaped dividends
Aye, but are they jacking your payments up to compensate?
My gas and electricity accounts are in credit to the tune of a significant proportion of an n+1 and past experience has made me reluctant to press them for a refund.

<fx: quick check on British Gas website>
Looks like I'm in credit to the tune of around £330 (gas+electricity) .... hmmm ...

There is a bun bread pudding in the oven.

With this &  a pile of Arch's slices our kithchen is a weight watcher's nightmare jogler's delight.

There are also chocolate digestive biscuits & Eccles cakes.

Don't imagine there will be much weight loss hereabouts for a while

It's a standard national. I am very interested in "Natural Beekeeping", top bar hives etc, but it is challenging learning the ropes, so I am staying more mainstream conventional at the moment, where I can get help from the local association. I will be trying to do things in a bee friendly way - I want to keep bees because (1) I am fascinated by the principle, (2) bees are under threat, and a bit more support wouldn't go amiss, and finally (3) I like honey. (3) is not the priority!

Do you keep bees?

54" is my good news today. No, it's not that good news  ::-) It's that I rode up Cotham Brow in a 54" gear whereas usually I'm in about 41". And I had a pannier full of fruit and veg! Mind you, I did the other side in 61" yesterday but I had a much lighter load.

The other good news is that my cheapo Wilkos thermos actually seems to fit quite snugly in one of my bottle cages. Tea whenever I want now!

I've got my phone back :D. They've changed everything and stuff, but it seems to know the gist of what's happening and I should sort out most of the apps again eventually . Life can continue now :smug:.

Hurrah!  I'll be cycle camping in the Dales for a week in July, finishing with a map reading and navigation course.  With a friend for company on the course, how marvellous.
