Thanks on her behalf for all the good wishes.

She's both elated & nervous, which is entirely understandable. She's been in the same job for over 8 years, & I suspect she can do it in her sleep now. Got to learn new things, now.

Oxfordshire PCT will schedule some training for her which her current boss has refused, which is good. Less time off, but she'll no longer be confined to school holidays, which'll be an advantage. Cheaper & less crowded skiing, cheaper flights to Japan & able to go when the weather's better, etc. The people who interviewed her, one of who she will be working for, made a very favourable impression on her, & their behaviour since then (e.g. this thing with the hours) has tended to confirm that.

All looking good.

The new wheels for my fixed have arrived. Open Pro on Goldtec from BETD.   Lovely & shiny, though for the price I'd have expected rim tape.

My 5-second peak power output (as measured by the PowerTap) has finally put me in territory above 'untrained cyclist'!

Not only that, it put me up in low Cat 4 territory (skipping the USA-ian 'Cat 5' band). 1190W = 14.17W/kg.

(Still at 'untrained' level for 1-minute, 5-minute peak powers and FT though. Work in progress.)

Piers Morgan has been fined £666 and given 6 points for speeding, double yay!

To his credit though he took it on the chin like a grown up, unlike some

Well done Mrs B on the new job.

Today I got my new contract thru. I now have the word 'Senior' in my job title. I've never been a senior anything before :)

We've opted for a Pashley Princess Soverign, 17", BRG, 5 speed hub, hub brakes, hub dynamo, brooks sprung saddle and a wicker basket, instead of a Brompton for Mum's new bike. She decided that she didn't like the lightness of the front end on the Brommie.
Just back from the LBS and need to wait for delivery.

My heartrate is now getting back down after Palace have survived the 6 minutes of added time in the relegation showdown.

Not so good for an Owls fan obviously but you will most probably still have a club next year.

My cousin had a trial with Liverpool FC recently and they've taken him on for six weeks to start with.
Well done Aaron!

His brother is the Lacrosse player I mentioned a bit back so they got all the sporting talent it seems.
