CEREDIGION rural crime team is investigating the report of a lamb having been butchered and the carcass stolen in the Rhydlewis area.

Looking at the sheep and lambs on the hill opposite, I've already thought,  I would if I had to.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I seem to remember this sort of thing as a plot in the post WW1 thing "When The Boat Comes In".

We'll be fine here. Our Lucy The Cat is an avid hunter, and brings several presents of wee cowerin' timorous beasties from nearby fields to the back door every day. The freezer is now well stocked.

A former Sith Ifrican colleague was amazed we have sheep in fields next to public roads, or even roaming free on the moors.  Where she comes from, they'd be stolen for a big family barbecue.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

Out on a farm in Malawi, the farmer explained to me that he only hired small women, not for any nefarious purposes, but apparently they weren't strong and tall enough to lob the animals over the fence.

As one of the few people on here with a farming background , this really boils my piss.
I know the OP was  tongue in cheek (Basil's default style, bless him)  but it's not the odd Rambo character living off the land.
Mostly it's organised crime and wanton cruelty to animals.
Despite claims to the contrary, most farmers that I know care deeply about their livestock even though they know that one day they will end up on a plate .
