There has been a bit of a hesitation

Maybe nobody can see a hole lot of point to it.

I did pass a manky looking Mole wrench in amongst the dirty semi-frozen slush at the side of the road today, and I did think of this thread.
But I didn't stop!

Was riding in this morning,  alongside the A2, when I notice  cars on the main 3 lane carriageway, swerving all over the place, then I saw this in the MIDDLE lane. I was thinking what would happen if a M/bike had hit it, ,  so I jumped off Olive, crossed 2 seperate sliproads, and out into the middle carraigeway, and dragged it all back to the hardshoulder twixt the 2 slip roads.  Within 5 mins a plod car drove up, and I flagged him down. I told him the sequence of events, and he said '' fair play to  you for doing that, but   'we don't have facilities for lost property'  says he,  ' with any luck they'll realise its missing and come back for  it.   Ah says I, but look where its situated, bit dodgy someone reversing up a slip road,  ....'OK we'll sort it, you be on your way,...and thanks.   ::-)
ps, I could add that '  they were only Carrera bikes, but then I might be called a ''Halfordist!'',  and that would never do.!! :)

On our ride to Dinton pastures I found a 30mm spanner lying on the edge of the road . Not sure what I can use it for but I bought it home with me  :)

How can you be sure it was spag bol?
Not stopping is the correct procedure.

It was in a microwavable plastic box with "spag bol" written on it.

That looks like a high mount bike carrier. Shame it didn't have a lighting board and reg plate attached. Would've made tracing the owner a bit easier. Anyone else think it's indicative of how often the driver looked in the mirror...?

Mirror's not much use in orbit, which he probably is after jettisoning a couple of Halford's (is this a good carrera move?  You can keep the coat; it didn't fit anyway).

Might have fallen off a camper van which can't see through its back window anyway.

Well...................not been out on the ol' velocipede for 10 days + , so wasn't expecting much of an eventful ride in this morning. About 2 miles in, I went a slightly different way to normal, .............................and saw this......................

Hmm! me thinks , a useful  empty drill case, , I can use that for something....... ;D  better go back and have a look.

Blimey ,..........................thats heavy.............................. ;D ;D,    better open iit up then..... ;D

OOooooooo :o :o :o :o :o ;D,.......''I'll 'ave that', ah but prob doesn't work, but you never know.

So carried it home on the bike,  one handed, which was a tad difficile,as it was heavy.

Complete with all the unused (bar one)  drill bits,   works well , this one, it does.

I'm now  getting a bit worried,as I'm finding bigger things tan I used too.  There will come a point where I will have to 'hide' my find,  for later vehicular retrieval.

You remind me of that bloke in Hitchhikers Guide that has his own personal raincloud. You have your own personal lost item fairy that puts stuff in front of you.

It's worrying. Either BP is pretty average and the rest of us are just riding round with our eyes closed, or he rides in some really odd places. Or knows some really odd people. Or it could just be that the rest of us do see the same stuff, but have got used to ninety-nine out of a hundred drill cases being empty so no longer stop to look, and of course BP just doesn't tell us about the other 99.

I think we ALL see things, but don't necessarily register the fact, or indeed stop to investigate.

A most  delicious find, a perfect specimen, and once given a jolly good wash, it was indeed a tasty breakfast.

You know those yellow and black striped pencils we had in the 80s?  One of those.  Well-chewed so, again, I didn't stop.
