I’m waiting for the day you find a briefcase with a million dollars in low-denomination banknotes. I think it’s just a matter of time.

How do you think Blodwyn got the free time to find all this :)

Found near Marble Arch on the ride home this evening.  One of these would be quite useful, but I detoured to Charing Cross nick and turned it in.  That was an interesting experience.  BTW, when did actual real police stop manning the front desks at police stations?

You were lucky to find a police station, let alone a manned one! Surprised they accepted it, didn't think they bothered with lost property any more.

In central London, the only two stations I can think of are Charing Cross (assume open 24/7, considering location) and one near Holborn.

Several yonks ago.  The average police station front desk appears to feature a locked door and a batphone.

Top tip: Don't be a deaf person attempting to report a crime (especially if it's a crime that deprives you of easy access to electronic communication services).

There's one on Ebury Street (I think that's the name of the road) round the corner from Victoria Station.  I used to walk past it visiting a client down there

I found the auxiliary entrance to the Channel tunnel in a Bristol side street.

I have not won, as the item was claimed by its owner.  The confirmation of this fact is worthy of a post in the Grumble thread...

David found a carrier bag in our front hedge, containing two fresh loaves of bread, a box of olives and a box of freshly fried pork scratchings from the local Romanian supermarket.

Beats us why these were dumped! The bread smelt really fresh!

Someone's got home with a bag of dog poo still in hand and realised they've made a huge mistake perhaps.

Threw out the loaf which had acquired a caterpillar, half the olives and pork scratchings.
Making slow progress on the remaining bread, which might get black fur before we finish it.

Since I can't ride, maybe I'll occasionally post some 'found in our front hedge' items.

I gotta 3 octave electronic keyboard piano toy last week. The middle F# is missing thobut.

The standard lamp in our lounge came from the hedge.

We had the cops remove the shiny RED bolt-croppers...

I also have a standard lamp from the hedge opposite.  I left it several days.  They obviously didn't want it.  Quick rewire, new (old) brass fitting from my junk box.  Clean.  Stain.  Looks lovely.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.
