That's the one that fell out of BP's pocket after he'd stuffed all the £20s into them.

As the school deputy head announced drily after assembly one morning circa 1972: "A sum of money has been handed in. Would the owner please form an orderly queue outside my office."

I gained one of those when I went swimming on Sunday, locker was a bit stiff on locking, an two of those fell out when I unlocked it.

I rode there and back, so that counts for this thread

I found this on a smooth piece of grass near Henley. Good job I did because it was rolling towards a hole and if I hadn't acted it would have been lost forever. A bloke in the distance was shouting and shaking a stick. Probably 'Well done" or something but I couldn't make it out.

Actually found on the side of a road which runs past Henley golf course.

On my way to give blood I spotted this tiny Ortlieb bag, its distressed grey-black look blending in with the gutter.

and inside were these goodies

but alas no name and address so I can't return them to their rightful owner. I'm not sure what the 2 things with screwdriver handles are (the small one with the black handle and the larger one with the red handle on its right - something for sewing leather?) but if I ever need one (or a tiny file with a pointy end) I'll know I have one. The same applies the pink plastic thing with 2 holes.

I think the screwdriver things might be for pushing "worms" (rubber string things) into holes to mend punctures in a tubeless tyre. No sign of the worms though.

Ah, so that explains what the rubber string things were.

The pink plastic thing looks like a valve core remover.

Yup. For presta valves.

ETA - why would you have what looks like points feeler gauge in a bike toolkit?
Or is that a very basic folding knife / blade?

In the interests of SCIENCE and stupid things, you need to sample the cannisters to see whether they're actually mountain biker's CO2 or clubber's nitrous.  :D

No roadside picture though, it was raining enthusiastically and I wasn't about to pull any electronics out. Just grabbed the thing and dropped it in my front pocket.

Trouble with those things is that you only ever get ¼ turn before the other end hits something.

Not on a ride, nor today, but yesterday I was heading towards the horrible market via a tortuous route*, when I spied, on the approach to a roundabout, a Black Thing with the appearance of a mobile phone or perhaps just a weatherproof mobile phone case. Once I had left the roundabout I parked up, walked back and retrieved the Black Thing, which had escaped being run over as it was between the expected wheel tracks.  On closer examination it was in fact some kind of Tricorder courier delivery data wotsit in a rugged case.  Poking around the menu I could see roughly where the driver was headed, but not exactly. Poking around some more and using teh Mitey Brane of the Intarwebs I deduced it was a Royal Mail gadget, so once I had stocked up on Toothy Comestibles I drove to the local delivery office and handed it in. I'm assuming it had been on the dash board of an open windowed Royal Mail van before it made a bid for freedom.

*Tortuous Route courtesy of WSCC who have closed roads in my manor so everyone going to Mr Tesco's Emporium has to go round the Big Roundabout. That's progess.
