The Pet Shop Boys have finally surpassed their late 80s Brit award outfits where Neil Tennant went as a hot water bottle and Chris Lowe went in waders.

'Royals in the House
We are asked to rise for Prince Harry and Jacques Rogge of the I.O.C. Didn’t know Rogge had reached “please stand” status. The former Kate Middleton is here and some lesser royals are also spotted. “God Save the Queen” follows. And then a car explodes and Batman and Robin come out. It’s apparently a dual reference to the movie “The Italian Job” and a British TV show called “Only Fools and Horses.” This is going to be absolutely inexplicable to the vast majority of international viewers, but it gets a huge cheer. Apparently, “Del Boy,” a character on the show, is as popular over here as, say, Fonzie or Alf.'

Is it me, or is the sound mix all to cock?

Sounds like the 5.1 centre stems didn't make it to the commentary-free feed.  Looks like they found the centre faders just in time to go back to the 60's.  Again. ::-)

I've still got my hopes up that Led Zep are going to be dropped from a helicopter. To perform, natch

Did you clock the branding under Ainslie's union flag arm patch? Next must have bunged him a decent wedge. I hopes heads will roll.

The commentary-free feed appears to be stereo only, so there's a lot of stereo|stems|upmix routing going on.  I wouldn't worry about sync, it'll be a nightmare through the whole chain.

You're safe; John Lennon did "Imagine".  And quite well too.  Just how I remember it.

I reckon "Imagine " would be an ideal Olympic anthem. The words echo the ethos.
