The novel "Termination Shock" by Neal Stephenson which is set in the near future when the climate crisis has got a lot worse has super pigs as one of the story lines. In the novel they are smart and will eat anything.

They are also a feature of Atwood's Oryx and Crake series. Wowbagger, if you haven't read these (a trilogy), you should – I've no idea if you'll like her style but the subject matter is totally Wowbaggerian!

Who remembers "Razorback"? - classic Aussie giant pig film from 1984. Went and watched it last night for the first time since it was originally screened at the local flea-pit.

When I first saw "Alien 3", a few things seemed vaguely familiar but I couldn't place it...

Not much except these are bigger and will hunt humans.

Back in the pre-Cambrian I shared a house with a bunch of film Penniless Student Oaves; “Razorback” was required viewing at least monthly.  Russell Mulcahy went on to direct the much-less acclaimed* “Highlander”.
