Is anyone else noticing a distinct paucity of bumblebees this year?  :-\

I spotted one back in April, but haven't seen (or headbutted while riding my bike having failed to see) any since...

As soon as the lavender flowers, they'll all be in.my garden.

I've had loads in my garden. The cotoneaster was a magnet to them. They're clambering inside the foxglove flowers now. (South Warwickshire)

We've had loads here. They really love some trees in particular, you can hear a massive hum from the tree, like it is coming alive.

<Breaks into song>

Where are all the bumblebees gone
Long time passing
Where are all the bumblebees
Long time ago
Where are all the bumblebees
Eaten by nasty Asian hornets
every one of them  :'(...................sorry

Have seen a few but haven't seen many bees of any species.

Glad to hear it's not a nationwide thing. Maybe they drowned in their burrows here with all the rain. I've seen a few about in the garden today, but not what I would call normal numbers.
