Its next week already - anything happening? Or holding back for the Beer Fest?

Alas I shall be coming back from Reading so I'm out. I have worked out that I haven't ridden my bike at all this month. Very poor.

I'm still hopeful of a 2 wheeled excursion - need to try out my new brakes in any case!
Weather looking more favourable than it has for a long time too
Where shall we meet for refreshment?

I can probably get out on weds too, albeit with a later than usual start.  Depending on how many tuits I find between now and then, and the shape of them, I may be test-riding a new drivetrain.

Works for me, shall we say 9pm-ish rendevouz?  Withamite departure time will determine route taken  :)

I'm most emphatically not off the beer!  ;D November is finally a distant memory and I aim to keep it that way ;-)

How's the fettling going and what time shall we meet if we're to ride to The Compasses together?

The fettling went fine, but I may ride the day01 anyway since it has the pump and a correct set of tubes, tools etc attached already.

I should hopefully be able to leave somewhere around 7:35/7:45 ish depending on the Brownies run etc.

I'll text you out it's going to be significantly different from that.

Hello.  I am back in circulation for this week and hopefully next week.  Where shall we go this week?

If inspiration is required I should like to point out there are some unvisited (by me) Good Beer Guide pubs in Chelmsford: Oddfellows Arms and Orange Tree.

Can we get a cyclist health check of Chelmsford suggested pubs before we turn up in MAMIL outfits and leave bikes outside please, bobb?

Well,  the Oddfellows is very close to the prison isn't it?  What could possibly go wrong?

Please tell me The Red Beret isn't on OD's list ;)

Oddfellows and Orange tree have been mentioned before, haven't they been visited yet?

A visit was planned but never executed. If you recall it was that dreadful evening when all we could manage was The Woolpack on account of it being so damn cold.

A certain gentleman, formerly but now occasionally OTP actually lives on the same street as The Orange Tree and The Queens Head now! If asked nicely, secure bike parking facilities maybe made available....
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

CROSS POST WITH bobb ...

токамак is in Mallorca riding his bike - presumably with the Chelmer  ::-)

More careful inspection of my records indicate that the Queen's Head is also unvisited so my proposal is we go for the Orange Tree and The Queen's Head

Thoughts?

That seems fair!

Withamites - the natural route to Chelmsford incorporates Wickham Bishops hill, Market Hill, Maldon and TMNH.  What say you?

By the way, I'm awheel this Sunday for circa 100k if anyone fancies it.  My GBG target is The Horse & Hounds at Ramsden Heath.
