You could look here   https://securityforbikes.com/  for some useful info and supplies, and Steve is very helpful.

Dammit, I was just going to buy the same again but now I've found myself sucked into hours of research, as is my wont.
And who knew? - We've been using the chain wrong this whole time...

That is exactly the model we currently have.

I'd be interested to know how you get on with this, I have one sat here that I'm failing to find the courage to install...

I can say that the Pragmasis kit is superb from direct experience.  Rock solid, well thought out design and reassuringly heavy.

And again - I had to leave a couple of their ground anchors at our old house when we moved last year  :(

You've got at least 5 weeks to wait to see how I get on...

I've got at least 5 weeks to work out where I put it in the last great tidyup...

I think that we are agreed then that Steve is a top bloke and the Pragmasis kit is top notch?  🙂

This reminds me, on a visit some time ago my parents brought me my old motorbike ground anchor with the huge lump of concrete it was screwed into (they had dug up the garden to re-landscape).   They do love to bring me things "I might find useful" each time they visit.

I really ought to hunt out the bush in the garden I dumped it under and the SDS drill so I can re-purpose it.   No point in trying to undo the bolts as I hammered the ball bearings in to destroy the hex heads.

Well a responsible adult (my brother) appeared today with his GBFO SDS drill.  I managed to sucker him into doing the drilling too, which is good as I think we'd have been a bit overawed by using it ourselves.

When my brother arrived, him being a practical sort we said, this is where we're planning to put the anchors, anything you want to point out?
Him: what if you want to put your car in the garage?
Pingu & I just looked at each other.  ;D

As luck would have it, the day I fitted our ground anchor, as bought from Mr. & Mrs. Docsquid, we had A Man fitting a fence for us. He happened to have a drill which was sufficiently powerful that we could drill into the concrete floor of our garage. I think that concrete had been busily getting harder every day since the garage was built in 1926. Our normal drill wouldn't touch it.

I was quite impressed (or disturbed) how easily Mrs P's bro's drill did the job.

Yes. I bought one to drill 16mm holes in hard-as-hell Fyfestone for hbfo sleeve anchors to hold up the aerial mast and sat dish.

A regular hammer drill simply would not look at it.
The SDS+ went through it like butter.

Some time ago I bought a very cheap Lidl SDS+ drill with a small variety of bits primarily for the purpose of filling a Squid anchor.  It cost just £29.  The flimsy plastic-cased machine has smashed it's way through a number of surfaces now and been used many times.  I secretly want it to break so I can justify a lovely, expensive Makita one to match my growing collection of lovely, expensive Makita power tools but the bloody thing just keeps on working.

Ho hum.  🙂
