Bose Soundtouch 10 repair
« on: 28 September, 2021, 01:35:46 pm »
One of my Bose Soundtouch 10 speakers has died. It was working perfectly last week, but on attempting a kitchen concert last night, one of the pair was totally dead - no blinkenlights, no noise, no response to Bluetooth or Wifi, not visible on the apps of various devices. Used a different (and definitely working) wall-wart; no change. I suspect something in the power circuitry inside the box is poorly. As they're no longer made, and they are rather good (especially since the AirPlay update), the secondhand prices on Bay of Es are stupid, so I'd like to get it repaired if possible. Anyone know of someone in the South Suffolk/North Essex area who might attempt this with a reasonable chance of success?

I’ve used these people to buy Bluetooth boards for my Bose sounddocks https://www.invebo.com/index.html don’t know if they can help? Not local but may have the parts?

Bose themselves?  May not be in Suffolk of course.

That's probably my best bet. In the meantime, I've managed to score a replacement for £110. Given that FleaBay sellers were asking £300+, that's a bargain. If I can get the original repaired, that will be something of a bonus!
