Disability cutlery for gammy hands.

So my ongoing neurological weirdness means I'm finding it increasingly akward to hold cutlery.  :facepalm:

The prices on Amazon etc for just 1 knife, 1 fork and 1 desert spoon and 1 tea spoon with nice comfy ergonomic grips though!  :o >:(

I have not used these but have found John Lewis's Dome range suit me.
They're not cheap, though my initial purchase was effectively half price in their sale and I was given more for a big birthday.
This range had another name a few years ago.

I'm not convinced those dome cutlery from John Lewis would be any better than my current cutlery.


However I have seen a set of various sized foam rubber tubes, meant for fitting over the handles of cutlery, pencils, toothbrushes etc, for around a tenner. So I may try that first.

I commonly recommend pipe lagging. You can buy metres at a time from B&q for very little cost. Cut to length and slide the fork or knife handle into it.

Ah, the crip tax.

Barakta will be along in a minute to be scathing about occupational therapists, but her basic principle of 'find the non-special thing that happens to work for you' is sound.  Eg. cheap pliers, ICE trikes.

Continuing the pipe-lagging theme, sounds like a job for Sugru.  Or maybe bar tape.

How about wooden file handles? Axminster tools do a range up to 150mm (big) for under £2 each. If they need to be more grippy a good firm base to then add a layer of bar tape.
Of course the cutlery would need to have handles cut off to fit. I would be happy to do the fettling.

However looking at the OP £12 for a nice set is hard to beat.

Yes, those may be the best option, I'm certainly baulking at the cost of disabled person's cutlery!  >:(
