lightweight shoes for airtravel

can anyone recommend a pair of shoes just for air travel?
non-slip fabric sole, and a lightweight fabric upper.

seems like an obvious thing I should be able to buy? but no luck with google, am starting to think about making them myself ..

"subea aqua shoes" look quite like they could be the thing, but are 300gr/pair  so way too heavy.

You can get them a lot cheaper than RRP.  They are my evening footwear of choice when travelling light / touring.

Sounds like espadrilles to me. Though even lighter would be some shoes you’re taking anyway.

I like the look of those Merrell Vapours, and Merrell shoes are always comfortable IME, but given that their stated weight is 398g and the OP considers 300g too heavy, they might not be suitable!

Can get some lightweight dance shoes, look quite nice. ie Jinga / Taygra. https://www.taygrastore.co.uk/product-category/slim/

Or just wear some crocs. Cheap copies are probably lighter weight than genuine versions.

Karla recommended Etnies Scout shoes for lightweight touring a while ago.  I bought a couple of pairs (on offer) and they've been fantastic.  So light you don't know they're on but very durable.

They've been all over the world with me on touring holidays and I even used them as running shoes in India a few times.  They also get used in the UK in hot weather.

Vapour glove 4 stated weight 320g.  They really are very light and unless you have a thinner sole you’ll feel everything through I can’t see you getting much lighter.

Both sound pretty light to me, and I think they look great, but the OP did specify 300g as a benchmark.

I’m really rather puzzled why a 5 ounce shoe should be “way too heavy” but each to their own. The description of fabric sole and fabric upper sounds like a slipper-sock to me.

They look exactly what I need for wearing around the house - I hate slippers with rigid soles. I have some lambskin moccasins but I like the idea of something that's also more suitable for outdoor use.

I popped them on the scales out of curiosty and they weighed 240g for size medium vs the claimed 160g.  Not a major deal but its a big margin of error.  The insole accounts for 10g per shoe, or per glove, whatever they are.
I've put them on - they slip on easily but I've not walked far yet.
