We were up in the Land of No Uploads, lovely horizon-to-horizon Milky Way, one friend got to show off his Boy Scout / Zombocalypse navigation badge by Finding the Pole Star and I had a chance to wheel out Stellarium (in night-vision mode!) to target the Perseid radiant.  Hot tea and cricked necks all round, and a jolly good show of meteors too.

(then we went inside and gawped at Stellarium some more - the deep zoom, the sheer scale of predicto-time, the view of Earth from the Moon... )
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.
