Slightly strange request...

Basically I need a lift.  At 1100hrs on Saturday 23rd October I have to go into Broomfield hospital to have a benign lipoma removed from the top of my left arm.  The Current Mrs R will be at work and I'm not allowed to use public transport cos of COVID.  I am allowed to ride in a car wearing a mask being driven by someone also wearing a mask.  TCMR can collect me once she has finished work.

Could one of you lovely folks give me a lift from Witham to Broomfield?  Happy to pay for petrol.  :-*
Happy to volunteer, the car runs on diesel though.

I know where you live....

You're a star  :-*  If you could pick me up at about 1030?

Off the top of my head:

Chequers - Great Tey

The Alma - Copford

Cross Keys - Hatfield Peverel

Kings Head - Tollesbury

Carpenter's Arms - Maldon

The Maltsters - Heybridge

Jolly Sailor - Heybridge

Old Ship - Heybridge

WMYC - West Mersea

Ye Olde Albion - Rowhedge

Queen's Head - Boreham

Chapel Inn - Coggeshall

Bell Inn - Tolleshunt Major

Dog & Pheasant - East Mersea

Bryony Nano Brewery - Witham

BFC Acres - Witham

Oaky Towers - Witham

Well done ted, I can feel tectonic plates creaking as the C O G shifts slightly Eastwards!

Just wait until Joergen inputs the Strangler's new location into the ACMElocator 2000

Are you going to drag your old bones out this week and, if so, do you want to consider an EER venue ?

I should be out this week, but I'm on kid duty so I'll be lateish.

The Cats or QH Boreham will be ok for me, maybe some weak legged Westerner's with Cinderella complexes can make it that far?

I'm not gonna choose cos CBA might get the better of me if I'm still faffing to get out at 8pm.

How about you Strangler?

Regarding tomorrow evening.  I have to go to Croydon tomorrow (yet another aspirational location  ::-) ) and depending on where you folks decide to go and what time I get back I might join you.  Don't wait for me at Spa Rd though.

I am going to give tomorrow a miss, Cats is a bit too far out.

There will always be other midweek opportunities at another time.

Have we settled on QH Boreham, then? Are we doing 8 or 9pm meet?

I think there is a majority for QHB. I'm happy with 8 but will await others views.

Looks like no EER outing then.  :'(

Hopefully next week.

My escape from Croydon is underway. Is there anyone likely to be at Spa Rd roundabout and what time are they planning to set off?

Can I make an early bid for somewhere within my range this week (particularly given the forecast).

Depends where? :) I don't mind The Sun but does have low range of beers at quite a price. Maltsters maybe but bike parking an issue... Cats?

This will be maybe my last night out for a while  (though next Wed might happen - depends on new job needs etc)

I’m going to sit this one out due to proximity of the lurgy, so go as far East as you wish!

Weather? Goes and consults the oracle, oh yes, not very promising so ... staying local makes sense. I'd vote for the Spiritual Home if any mid/westerners are out.

Cats is OK, provided it is open as usual  ?

Otherwise an east/west split on account of the forecast.

Fair number of road closures around there at the moment, Bridge in Howe Street and sink hole near Leas.
