30 days + 10000 and a bit metres a day = 303031 meters. That means I'm only 61000m away from a million in 7 months, where the first 3 months was taking it easy and learning this rowing malarkey.

Day off tomorrow, then a gentle 1+ hour row for then a half marathon on Sunday. Then I got 3 day off and then what ?

I'm planning to row the Leeds Liverpool Canal in Dec. ~204000m over 25 days, a bit like an advent row.  So write these distances down on a bit of paper, pop them into a hat, pull one out and row.

1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, day off, day off, day off, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000, 1 hour, 1 hour, 1 hour.

I have managed to row just over 13000m in an hour a few times before.

So I should be able to do that and also keep it "interesting" for a few more weeks.

Today's row took me over 1 million meters, 7 months of rowing and 15+ kg down.

I'm planning a 10k every weekday (Mon - Fri) next week. I'll try and mix it up a bit, rather than just rowing
a straight 10k.

Surely you mean 13,000m?

I highly recommend John over here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGYcAoZ9WTJriM9jZkXxoPg

Not a "shouting in your ear drill Sergeant" but a good friendly workout for any of your levels. He just uploaded videos of him doing 18/20/22/24/26 and more so you can pick your tunes (from here https://www.reddit.com/r/Rowing/comments/a44oga/the_last_erging_playlist_you_will_ever_need/) and have him row in the back ground to keep your speed/rhythm/stroke rate.

Concept 2 are organising their usual Fall Team Challenge, as many meters as possible as a team from 15th September to 15th October, which neatly coincides with me getting back on the Concept II after enjoying cycling in the summer.  Any one else interested in forming a team.
oops I forgot about this. So I have joined the RowAlong team and we are currently #3 ;)

No worries - am only doing about 15000 to 20000m a week at the moment, as am trying to commute to London once a week by bike, which normally means the day after is recovery...

wow I got the t-shirt. I was sure that concept2 would check up on me and the rower.

Have I now crossed something unspoken - like shimano vs campagnolo - and the world will now open up and swallow me up the next time I row?

Following Rowalong's (https://www.youtube.com/c/RowAlongFreeIndoorRowingWorkouts) 30 x 30min rows in 30 days atm. But today I felt good and extended the row to 10.000m and clocked in at 41m20s.

Oh and he pointed me toward’s Hugh Jackman and his 24 hours attempt in the support of http://24hourrow.com.au/.

I therefore did something silly last weekend 4 x half marathons, one in the am and one in the pm. Plenty of time to rest and eat between. The very last 3000m was a bit hard but I managed to watch 4 movies I've wanted to  watch for a while :)

8k or so down to the lock and back in the sculling boat this morning.
Actually "in" gives entirely the wrong idea.  Picture a hippopotamus riding on a bright yellow cigar, and I'm not going to get fit doing it because I just CBA to do it hard enough, or with any structure.
But it's so Zen in the autumn sunshine, trying for that elusive perfect stroke, 18 times a minute.  It's just really really good for my soul. By the end of it, I was even loving the anglers and the bloke with a spliff steering his narrow-boat down the middle.

I've just discovered this thread.  I take it we're largely talking about indoor rowing?

A few months back we got one of THESE which is set up in the garage. I love it although I haven't used it for a few weeks as I've had a little op on me arm.  Hope to get back on it next week.

I shall keep an eye on this thread for inspiration

I had a session on the Fluidrower early doors this morning.  I am edging ever closer to 7km in 30 minutes.  My previous best was 31 minutes 24 seconds.  This morning I managed 31 minutes and 13 seconds on maximum resistance (#10).

I think if I stay on maximum resistance, slightly increase my stroke rate and focus on a better technique I should manage it.  I'm away for a couple of nights this week but might have another go on Friday morning.

Nice one, dad of Oscar.

I've noticed a change in my rowing*.

From: Feeling "a dread, bored, can't be asked, shall we just do a short row today" at about 2-3000m to about 5-6000m. If I manged to get over that dip, I'll get to about 9000m and starts to think - come on lad you can do it, only 1000m to go.

To: Start off, then think I must be near the halfway point, look at the 'puter to see it reads about 30min and about 7000m, keep on going and then have another look again to find that I'm over 10000m

My avg time for 10000 is about 46-48m, but I have noticed that I'm adding about 250-500m to the 10000m in that same time. Comparing a few months ago and now.

* I do 10000m each row. Put on a show or movie to row along to. I take it easy for about 2000m, aka warming up. Then slowly ramp it up, I tend to just do that, I can't seem to find a spot and stay there. Unless I follow a Rowalong video, though still struggle with following his guide, I just row. If there is wind in the bag and I feel good at about 8000m, I up the speed again. Hit 10000m and then stretch.

I've never done that. I think of myself as one of Jason's Argonauts, frantically rowing to get
past the "clashing rocks".

I did 2000m this morning.
But longer before I can get back on the bike, I think.

What level do you set your rower to?
