2nd date ideas
« on: 02 March, 2013, 07:26:58 pm »
I've an all important second date tomorrow and want to come up with an affordable and quirky way of spending the afternoon.

I thought you guys would have some inventive ideas :)

I can only give the best dating advice I have ever read, which is to avoid the following topics of conversation (I assume you are male)

1. Your car
2. Football
3. Something you just found/saw in the toilet.

Pretty much anything else is acceptable, but not these.

Hope this helps.

Go Ape - http://goape.co.uk/days-out/rivington

Hire a tandem and go to a country pub.

Book a chauffeur driven Aston and get it to take you to see Skyfall at a posh cinema.

Take a joint guitar lesson.

Pull in a favour, or make a cheeky call, and do a tour of Media City.

Just pack a nice picnic and go for a walk somewhere with nice views. Just warn the other party to wear suitable shoes.

Mind that would work for me and I'm not normal.

Looking at your location, I would not suggest a second date in Brighton.  I have actually done that very thing, and there is something about the place that puts the kiss of death on any relationship; maybe it's looking out to sea with the burnt-out west pier in view, or maybe it's the general filth and peeling paint.

If it's windy, go flying kites. Crazy golf at the seaside? Or just stay home and shag.

Take her back to your room and show her your Psion 5.  Always worked for me.

I spy a business opportunity hiring out Psion 5s.

Tandem and a picnic would be great. Might go for the immensely more practical food and walk option. Not sure she'd be taken with my Psion5.

And shagging on a second date? It isn't the 21st century any more! :)

Not being from Darn Sarf, I don't know how practical a day trip to France would be for you. I do know Newhaven is quite a long crossing, so maybe not that route...

Reminds me of the "classic":  Do you shag on the first date?  No.  How about the last?

That's the third date. Everyone knows that!

Just discussed this with Mr Smith. We, apparently, didn't have dates, we had assignations.

Take her to a secluded woodland car-park for a snog in the car after dark, and see how it goes from there.

Roger can advise some good woodland locations, I'm sure.

How far are you from Cambridge? You could go out in a punt and write a poem about it. The possibilities are endless.

I reckon the tandem ride is the best bet. Anything outdoors risks being unpleasantly cold, though. Especially shagging.

I do not recommend a tandem ride. Some people do not want to ride tandems.

Bike hire is available at Future Cycles in Forest Row. Or try Pooh Sticks at Pooh Sticks Bridge just outside Hartfield. For extra points bring your own sticks as there aren't many left at the bridge. Then go on to Gills Lap and eyeore's special place.

I'd go along with a picnic idea- surely loads of lovely places up on the South Downs.

Really not sure about the tandem suggestion- it would actually put me right off if a 2nd date suggested that, but of course some would like it.
