Setting the bar high
« on: 20 May, 2008, 11:26:41 am »
Well, high for me, that is.

I tried out my potential new commuting route - A24; A3.

Perhaps I shouldn't have done it on the Woodrup to set a target time. :-\

I managed an average 23kph each way (31 min door to door).  I was averaging 20kph at my previous work.

Might need to do it again with a loaded tourer ;D

commuting route - A24; A3.

I used to use those roads in the mid 80's when I worked in Epsom & Cheam, living in New Malden.

not on a bike though:I used a allthebells&whistles BMW325i  ragtop :-[[

The A24 is my usual route out of London towards Guildford. Make my way to South Wimbledon and then blat along the A24 through Ewell, Epsom, Ashtead, through/past Leatherhead and then up and along the draggy A246.

Sounds like your granny ring qualifies for the wrinklies' olympics!
