I know this is my own fault for hanging the fatball feeder there, but do they have to be so noisy?

Listening to the swifts

We've seen only a half dozen or so swallows this year.  We normally see noticeable numbers of them and house martins as well as a few swifts.  However, the skylarks seem to be singing a bit later than most years.  Heard the 1st one on the 16th of Feb. and the songs have only just started tailing off in the last week.  Normally expect them to have stopped by the beginning of July.

Whereas we’ve (in leafy Bucks) seen more than the usual complement of swift’s this year.

Watching assholes demonstrate in Paris against the "loss of liberty" implied by the "pass sanitaire".  It's all very half-hearted - well, it's hot - and not a patch on the gilet jaune riots we had a couple of years ago.

How many pairs of pants is too many? I've just got rid of 9 pairs and I still have 42 in the drawer.

The big problem now is socks. Cos I've got normal weight ankle socks, super short summer holiday type socks and massive thick 'it's freezing in my office' socks that take up half the drawer. At least the pants don't take up much space, despite me being a proponent of arse covering pants.

42 is The Answer.  But it seems like too many.  You should donate some to barakta, who seems to destroy pants at an alarming rate.

Meanwhile, my pants seem to last forever.  Possibly because I wear then them right way round.  Possibly because they're three sizes too big.

Regardless, they should always cover your arse.  Otherwise, what's the point?

Just got back from a bike ride with a new person.  Lots (for me) of that will they kill me as I am unfit fear but we had an excellent 50km ride, chatted most of the way and a great coffee stop.  He may have been slowing down for me but he did not make it obvious!

Running in the cabling for new mains-powered interlinked smoke, heat, and CO alarms.
To comply with the new retrospective building regs, this is going to require a total of seven devices due to the layout of this place.
Two are direct replacements for existing ones which are over 10 years old, and I didn't want to mix-and-match manufacturers over the installation.

In an older property which has been extended several times, this is a total PITA.
All the void spaces are inaccessible, or filled with rubble or old insulation, or blocked by dwangs.
Struggling to get the fish tape more than a couple of metres at a time.
The necessitates cutting small access hatches in the ceiling plasterboard, which is simple enough, but my arms are now pumped from working above head-height all afternoon.

Mostly done now.
