I used to do that many years ago, before I got an actual violin (though I did have to improvise a bow from sticks and string). Not recommended as the bridge is too flat so it's chords or nothing.

I'm at a 'happening' at my local. Not a bad blues band out in the garden. Oh, and I've just bought 1 ton of logs for £76 in the auction. Bloody hell, £76 A ton. That will do very nicely.
