Knee pain (not on bike)
« on: 28 June, 2021, 03:56:43 pm »
My right kneecap has been tender to touch for the last six weeks or so.  No obvious swelling.  It's a bit twingey if crouching down, with a throbbing sensation, and I have avoided kneeling on it or putting strain on it when standing up from a sitting position.  However, it works absolutely fine for cycling (even hard riding) or walking.  Any ideas?

Early/slight 'housemaid's knee' (pre-patellar bursitis)?

(Do not confuse with 'Clergyman's Knee' or infra-patellar bursitis...)

Ah yes - just wait for it to go, then?  I suspect I brought it on by changing the wheels on the car.

No, go see a doctor.  If could be an infection of the bursa. At least you will get naproxin and if that doesn't work maybe a cortizone (maybe) shot.

The Worst GP In Swindon isn't going to see me until about 3 years after it's either healed or dropped off!

Yeah I know- do as I say and not do as I do, but after having infected bursa in the knees that I noted how much a kneel down.

Hope you either get seen or heals quickly.
