That's what I'm getting too.  Been like that all day.  Just needed to check that it just wasn't me. :)

The main page is accessible now so I guess Shaun is working on it.

It was down on and off all night - my cycle-endtoend.org.uk website is hosted by Shaun/CChat and I get notifications - must have been about a dozen in 8 or 9 hours - up and down

They’ve just announced the closure of their version of POBI, as the owner is fed up with having to moderate it.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind...  Who are the usual suspects blaming it on this time?

Everyone else,  I guess.

Used to be on CC long ago.  I think people have changed generally, a lot more tension.

Years ago I think I was immediately banned there for being fucking sweary.

I managed to get myself banned for having the temerity to question the over-zealous moderation.

Just had a speed read of the relevant CC thread (and now feel like I need a mental shower)...

I do seem to be living in some peoples' heads rent free  ;D

I do hope they don't infest this place.

Shaun tried to do that ages ago, set up an entirely separate forum for That Kind Of Thing, but it never took off. So he relented and set up a “lite” version, iirc, but I guess that has now gone the way of the original?

I’ve not been in there for a while. No special reason, I just don’t have time in my life for multiple cycling forums right now. Some of the regulars I like very much, others not so much.

I only ever read CC for the Fridays stuff and occasional fragments of local geographical knowledge.  I find the UI clunky, and most of the interesting people are on here anyway, so never really experienced any of the CC drama.

We missed you, but as you can see maybe it was not those that were banned / left the forum who caused all the problems. I suspect if Shaun does go through with this this that a few people might move over, despite not knowing which button does what.

Well, I shall be looking into arranging another Piec-nic in due course.  Details shall be published here in due course.  That may attract a few.
