RIP Charlie Watts

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts dies at 80.  We know Keith is immortal but Charlie was the sensible one.

A collector of teaspoons, wasn't he?  Proper rock and roller!  Certainly a rock, anyway.    I wonder if the Stones will stop?  I think it might be appropriate because that's a huge gap to fill and they can't need the money, although I suppose a few jobs depend on them.  Ah well.

RIP and thanks, Charlie.

They managed to replace Bill Wyman and Brian Jones, so anything is possible.  On the other hand Led Zeppelin didn’t.

RIP Charlie. The drummers always seem to be the sensible ones.  Maybe it's because they have to be happy to sit behind everyone else.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Guitarist goes wild, hits random chords "They were really threshing it tonight"

Drummer goes mad, hits some random beats. Band "WTF was that? You put me right off."

(good) Drummers have to have a centre of calm and organisation.

They already have a stand-in, they were touring the US this summer with one Steve Jordan in the role.

Ah, OK, thanks.  Wonder what they'll do when their obligations have been met?  It's only of tangential interest to me because I haven't really listened to much after the 70s!

RIP, again, Charlie.

Exception that proves the rule: Mr John Henry Bonham.

Only The Glimmer Twins left of the original band now (though Bill Wyman is still alive he hasn't been in the band for 30 years).

They probably should call it a day.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Indeed. I think I gave up around the time of Black and Blue.
