Bought a gear cable inner and a set of front and rear flashing lights from Wilkinsons.  The cable was 96p and the lights were £6.49.

2 charge spoon saddles from eBay, one black leather with Ti rails and one brushed black fake leather.

One for the Ridley, one for the Holdsworth. :)

One gatorskin , so I can fit that and one I've already got to the Holdsworth. I've also ordered a Minoura Spacegrip, as it looks like theyve done a big redesign since I last had a cheese one. If its made of more solid and durable cheese it might actually be useful

they are actually quite good now, I bought one earlier in the year.

One tip, when fitting it, put the clear plastic bit inside the clamp, attach to bars, clip down the over-centre clip THEN tighten up the allen bolt to suit.

If you try it the other way it will rattle about.

In the interests of practicality, and because such things are basically inevitable, I bought barakta some Carradice.

I've just been to the LBS and come back with about £300 worth of kit including:
  • A pair of 32mm Panaracer RibMos - I'll now be able to fit mudguards onto the yellow Genesis
  • A folding 32mm Ribmo, just in case
  • A ludicrously orange Altura jacket (the orangeness just about offsets the fact that I needed a 3XL)
  • A retina-ripping front light for commuting duties
  • A rear rack for the yellow Genesis and a retina-ripping rear light for same
  • Assorted other odds and sods

I also might have accidentally bought myself

I just bought on of those big dutch "bing bong" type bells. I have always thought they sound lovely and I finally caught someone who was using one and got the details off him.
£12 from Amazon.

A pair of Northwave tights with no chamois so I can make use of all my best shorts over the winter too. These ticked the boxes of fitting a 32" inside leg and not having zips at the bottom of which I am not a fan. Christened them today and they were nice and warm

Staff sale today, so picked up some of the cycling mags' subscription offer cast-offs cheaply...

Cyclo torque wrench
Green Oil Ecorider deluxe bike cleaning set
2x Altura Nevis jackets

All for the grand total of £20! #win

Not expecting much from the jackets, but for a fiver each, I'll be happy enough if they last through the winter.

Which when it arrived was 31mm rather than the 26mm described. ::-)

4 lots of pink bar tape for my pink Mercian, from Cycle Lab at the Koeberg interchange (N1/M5) in Cape Town - just R10 for a pack for  both bars. May never see it again in Africa. Registering for the Die Burger 92km event at Stellenbosch on Sunday.

Also got my Race Tec timing thingy to fit to my ankle for all future events around Cape Town - they take it very seriously here - when I try & explain Audax I get blank looks - maybe it's just Africa or the Afrikaanse mentality ...
Where have all the hedges gone ?

A carbon seatpost from Ebay. I have bid for a few of these recently and have been amused that my budget appeared to be hovering just below the going rate; I was taking a perverse pleasure in being the leading bidder but being picked off at the last moment. I don't know what I am going to do for amusement now.

It'll probably be the wrong size anyway.
