What the UPS man brought today
« on: 31 March, 2008, 09:39:34 pm »
All the way from Puyallup, WA:

Maple Telecaster neck by Warmoth, Inc.  22 stainless steel frets in the small Fender vintage size, ebony fretboard, Corian nut, headstock truss rod adjustment, slightly wider at the nut than standard (I sometimes push the top "E" string over the edge on the Strat).  Same price as the crap one I bought, and returned, to a UK maker, but spot on in every respect.

They're making the body at the moment, which will be alder with a flame maple top, in greenburst.

A guitar for life.
And Darkness and Decay and the Coronavirus held illimitable dominion over all.

Roger you are a very very bad man. I didn't know about Warmoth and unfortunately now I do ....
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I got a parcel from UPS the other day as well.
It got into Feltham from Australia, then went to Singapore, Mumbia and Dubia, Cologne before coming back here a week later.

That's a lot of travelling for a stick.  It's tiny too.

Yes,
I can get the drone going and I'm just about getting the hang of the circular breathing lark, can nearly breathe through my ears now :)
Not doing to bad for a beginer.

When I worked at Heathrow I saw a fella carrying a guitar case (which wasn't a stiff one, more fool him) and he went to the delicate baggage belt and asked for it to be put on there, stating it was an old Les Paul/Gibson etc (can't remember what it was exactly). He handed it to some chap, who waited for him to go and then just slung it down a chute that I know had a big pile of other "delicate" suitcases at the bottom of it!  :o

I once saw a surfboard in that pile and it was broken in half!

Oooh, that's pretty.  I'm hankering after a proper didge, but I went and bought an acoustic guitar the other day and I'll have to stick with my bamboo one for the moment.  Can you do the kookaburra? And the frickin' laser? (don't know the proper name for that one :-[)

Got it from http://www.didjshop.com/shop1/front.php they had a sale on and got 40% of the price, and even with postage it was cheaper than some shops over here.

Not been playing it long so haven't got the hang of the sounds yet.
There's some great vid's on youtube though.
