Those of you familiar with the Hungry Highlander caff on the corner at Braemar will know that it changed hands about a year ago. From being a fairly conventional chippie, it now claims to sell Fusion Cuisine. All well and good.

The bill of fare painted on the window includes:

Pizzas       Yay, no apostrophe. And, wait for it...

Curry's
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

That belongs here even if there were no spelling mistakes.

The only thing that makes me cringe about that is that they look like brother and sister.

Think that's bad? My nephew has just married a woman who resembles his double in female form. None of his four siblings looks anything like so similar!

If you want an amusing few minutes, try this quiz. Not hard, but there are some signs with more than one mis-speled word so you have to guess which one they want!

My fingers just added an errant apostrophe to the word "ill".  Shoot me now, it'll be a mercy killing.

I'm rubbish at spelling so I tend to feel a bit hypocritical when pointing out others' mistakes. But... I spotted this grave mistake in Beccles today.

There are some professions where accuracy in spelling, especially when using proper names, is really quite important. If you are advertising your professional knowledge of appropriate fonts, best to spell them correctly.  For added bonus points, avoiding superfluous upper-case lettering is helpful, especially when spelling out 'lower case'

Meandering through a cemetery a couple of weeks back I was surprised by the number of mistakes there were on gravestones. Perhaps you get a discount or maybe the deerly departed was a tiresome pedant and the relatives are getting their own back? People in this thread should be forewarned...

Increasingly seeing breaking when it should be braking. If this continues it'll probably make the OED before long.

Outside of proof-read publications, led appears to be written lead far more than 50% of the time. Presumably that makes it a standard alternative spelling now?
