There seems to be an outbreak of people misusing 'programme' for computer contexts recently. This bugs me more than it should, as it's a semi-legitimate BRITISH spelling, and innocent tech journalists may have their hands tied by some ignorant style guide.
But in my brain 'program' and 'programme' are different words, and encountering the latter used as a verb in particular seems to cause me to have to change gear and re-read the sentence with the correct interpretation. It's not like getting 'disc'[1] and 'disk'[2] mixed up, where it still makes grammatical sense, or when Americans use their spelling for everything because they don't have a distinction.
[1] BRITISH for "flat round thing"
