Five mile queue after M4 death crash....BONG!

Dear BBC.

Please take a long, hard, look at your priorities.

The actual news item here is THE DEATH OF A PERSON and NOT THE QUEUE

Yebbut most drivers don't appear to give a sh*t about the casualty (except to rubberneck as they go past) so it might be suggested that the BBC are just responding to demand.

Personally, I think it should be a flogging offence to mention tailbacks or queues on the news - unless they have been caused by an escaped animal (the more exotic the better) or a funny crash (e.g. the lorry that shed its load of bottled beer on the carriageway) and it is the 'And finally...' item.

BONG!

Board member quits from small company

Well I never. I used to be a Sunderland fan before I became totally disolusioned with the current state of the game generally (see any Rant re Premiership players) and have nothing to do with it.

People still come up to me and comment on the club - "ooh, see they lost to Chelsea at the week-end" etc, at which I tut loudly and explain that I have washed my hands of this nonsense.

That all said, I am completely out of touch with the Black Cats current escapades, and wasn't aware that either of the 2 eejits mentioned here were anything to do with my ex-beloved club.

I have just checked the Premiership table (first time for over 2 years) and see Sunderland teetering above the relegation zone.

With these 2 involved, I'm not surprised.

Glad I'm out of it.

A place for news that really isn't news, as heard or seen on the media today.

BONG.....It's Snowing.

No shit Sherlock... it's f***ing January.

When it snows in July.....That's NEWS!

I don't need to see any more BBC, license-fee funded, reporters stood in Doncaster high street to help me visualise what Doncaster high street looks like when it's snowing.

BONG....The snow in Doncaster is 1" deep

Snow so deep that it only results in the pavement being a bit slippy is not news.

If a BBC reporter can get there...it can't be that serious.

Is it still snowing?

24hr news would be OK if it wasn't mostly the same half dozen stories repeated.  There's a whole world out there with stuff going on!
In the last year I have been able to watch 24h news in different corners of the world. Each place has their own top 5 stories that they regurgitate until you can repeat them of fluently even if you don't speak the lingo.

Though that said there is stories out there that would be great to hear on the other side of the world, which even BBC news online don't report on their world news.

The only 24h news station I have come across that have more news than the top 5 and have more news from elsewhere is al jazeera. I'm not saying it is the best or right just that one gets to hear about stuff that is going out there that you never hear on your local and local 24h news.

This is one thing that the internet and rss feeds are brilliant for, but sometimes gets your blood boiling when the five top stories you heard after the BONG ain't any of the ones you have read and think is more important than what Kake was wearing or if her bump can be seen or not.

BONG! Old man retires from managing football club. BONG!

This is so BONG!-worthy that C4 news found it necessary to fill THIRTY-FIVE MINUTES of their show wiffling on about it.

BBC Get's Its Knicker In a Twist Over American Medical Association Decision

The BBC has clearly missed  the fact that obesity has been recognised as a disease by WHO for some time. It's in the diagnostic manual (ICD-10) used by the majority of the world, including the UK.

BBC breaking news ticker today " Nelson Mandela critical but stable in hospital still".

That's not breaking news or really any kind of news at all, the poor man has been in that condition for two weeks. If his condition changed in any way that would be breaking news.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Didn't he die a few years ago? That's a bit like giving somebody a job promotion after they've retired.
