I've had three Hermes deliveries recently, all of which have been on time, without any problems.

I think we are rapidly approaching the End of Days...   it's been nice knowing you all!

Not exactly a courier, but . . .

Your parcel has been shipped to the following address . . .

Using Royal Mail 48 Tracked STD 2D. The estimated shipping time for your order is 5-10 Business Days.

Erm, what?

As the RM say, it’s an aim, not a promise. Plus I guess the sender is adding an allowance for handling. Often “shipped” means “we’re getting ready to send”.

Parcel to Sweden weekly update: Royal Mail: Returned to Sender. Sorry, we were unable to deliver this item at 21-08-2021 as the recipient refused to accept it. It will now be returned to the sender.

UPS being surprisingly sh!te today.

Email saying delivery scheduled for Tuesday.
Later, email saying delivery moved back to Wednesday.
10 am, email saying that they had delivered the parcel, when they hadn't. Proof of delivery was "DT". Just that, no link, name, photo or anything.
Phone UPS to say that parcel hadn't been delivered. After some time the helpdesk droid said that he would contact the depot.
Thursday morning the parcel arrives, looking worse for wear. The cardboard was split and had been taped over. One of three items was missing, probably escaped through the split before the taping.
I phone the supplier who said they will send replacement for missing item.

Meanwhile, another parcel sent by UPS from another supplier, also had a scheduled delivery for Tuesday, was also put back to Wednesday, but that one did arriver. Proof of delivery was [surname spelt slightly wrong]

I'm still having problems with couriers just leaving parcels at work and running off. If the people I worked with bothered to close the doors would help as then they need to ring thr doorbell

Update to parcel to Sweden well back to the UK.

Remember that on the 21st it was being returned to sender according to Royal Mail and at the Feltham Delivery Office.

Since then I contacted Royal Mail on the 28th via their twitter as phone gave me a robot that said the same as the website. I haven't gotten an update from their twitter account but their tracker now show the parcel is moving. Left Sweden and arrived in the UK on the 28th, erm weren't you in the UK already?

So lets see when/if arrives

yes, it’ll be £3.82 duty, £11.47 handling fee plus VAT on top of the lot, so £27.13 please.

My parcel coming via ups has been delayed, apparently due to a late flight. Tracked at Stansted at 3.52am this morning.
Were they trying to fly it down to Gatwick  ???

Last week I got a call from goods in at work. A delivery. Sorry, it came in last week but we forgot about it. I’m perplexed. Go down, and find a UPS delivery. Sent from Belgium, on 20th December last year  ::-)

And FedEx have lost a £45,000 x-ray detector somewhere in Memphis.

I'm not sure there is a "Good Courier" thread?

So I'm reporting here that I am expecting a delivery by the Royal Mail, between 9:15 and 13:15 today. I know this because I have had three email and three texts telling me. However I do not need to sign for it.
It is simpler than it looks.

Parcelforce today. A tale of two parcels from RS on the same order.

First parcel:-
31/8/2021   19:37   National Hub   Sorted
1/9/2021   0:01   [Town] Depot   Received at delivery depot
1/9/2021   7:19   [Town] Depot   Prepared for delivery
1/9/2021   7:47   [Town] Depot   Out for delivery
1/9/2021   11:51 [Town] Depot   Delivered

Second parcel:-
1/9/2021   5:03   [Town] Depot   Received at delivery depot
1/9/2021   18:54 [Town] Depot   Addressee requested later delivery
1/9/2021   18:54 [Town] Depot   Second delivery attempt scheduled
1/9/2021   20:35 [Town] Depot   Prepared for delivery

There've been two people in all day, and a dog, and we didn't suddenly go online at nearly 7 o'clock in the evening to tell them that we didn't want the parcel.

In this case, a day's delay is no problem but I don't like how they won't admit that they didn't get round to delivering it.

The two parcels for Sweden is now back in my hands...

Since it is many small parts I'm thinking about sending them individual via all the couriers I can think off. Heck even via a friend in DK. To see if at least one makes its way past PostNord and into my friends hands.

Second parcel has now been delivered dumped on the doorstep without anyone ringing the bell.

Tatted and creased missed delivery card from Yodel on the doormat.

Completely blank. No idea what it is, where it is, or where they might have left it. Somewhere non-obvious, if they have.

Got an email saying a small ebay package had been delivered by Royal Mail at 11:45.
Postie turned up on his round at about 15:00 and actually gave it to me with our letters.

Received a letter (greetings card?) among our mail this morning. The house number was right, but we are not neighbours of people in Victoria.

Specifically, Victoria in Australia.

Bore a stamp for £1.70 and an air mail sticker.

It turns out these were some flowers for our wedding anniversary (I have no idea why they came via Yodel). Location now unknown. This is why real men buy these things from the local petrol station on the way home. Thanks Yodel.

Parcelforce did their usual stealth delivery of a you're-not-home card earlier while we were busy being very much at home. It's a Window's laptop so I don't even want it, no loss there.
