Damp, misty and (dare I say it?) distinctly autumnal here this morning.  :(
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I wonder if mounted police have to pick up & dispose of their horseshit.  Every rider should.

Suspect that deluge would have washed anything away long before it could be retrieved.

Anyway, it was their own yard, not a public highway so they'll have to sort this out themselves...

From the presence of mounted police near football matches, no they don't clean it up (always makes a ride by Millwall interesting). In other countries (US and Canada anyway), police horses have diapers to catch the poop and take it home.

Seems sensible.  It's a valuable resource.

drizzly and raining here, has been on and off all weekend.  The lawn has done the full savannah translation from dusty brown to lush green and I could do with a sheep to keep it down as it's too damp for the mower

The horses weren't in step either! What caught my eye were the "jam sandwich" cars with fluro orange stripe down the middle. Do they Met still use them? Looks rather dated now!

No, but they have a collection of old police cars at Hendon.

I saw two of them out today - a jam sandwich Rover 827 (?) and a blue and white Austin 1100.

For the record, this post contains no traces of weather related information.
Won't somebody think of the hamsters!

My house outside temperature gauge got down to 7.4C, which is frankly cold enough.

2.5 C yesterday; 7 deg. when I left home to walk 2 miles, but full sunshine and v. light breeze.
Didn't need gloves (close, though), in shorts, and my nice new Paramo Bentu fleece kept out the breeze without broiling me (it's also withstood 2.5 h drizzle/light rain without leaking).
11 deg. this am but no sunshine & more breeze so might need more wrapping.

Bloody hell, I'm sat at home in my office, door open to the back garden, window open and since lunch it feels like the humidity has jumped up several notches.  I'm sat sweating in shorts and t-shirt

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Definite "aware of the air conditioning" weather today and yesterday. Exit a shop etc and feel the instant warmth and humidity. I rather like it.

Sounds like Berlin is pretty warm too.
David's there and it's 30C though he's too cool in air-conditioned lecture room.

It's pretty warm here in Londonton too.

Friday morning the car temperature indicator showed 5.5C. This morning it showed 17.5C.

~28°C here & muggy. Currently watching a big thick cloud sliding slowly in from the SW. Storms to follow, no doubt.

Got sent home 'cos the wind damaged the office.

Our weather station recorded a mean temperature for July of 21.1°C. That's more than 1°C higher than any other month I have recorded.

August was warm (19°C), but 2016 was warmer apparently, at 19.4.
