Title: Fixing punctures

Riding in the damp doesn’t suit Brompton.  I have just tried fixing a puncture and each tint I put the tire back,  I get a new one.

I have been through the tire 3 times now and there is nothing as far as I can tell.

Very frustrated- what should I do next?

Before anyone asks, no it’s not a Marathon or M+

Where are the holes? If you line the tyre logo up with the valve each time, you can use this as a reference for matching hole in tube to hole in outer.

And indeed is the hole actually on the outer surface of the tube?  If not, it could be the rim tape, some foreign object rattling around, or a manufacturing defect in the tube.

Qg's suggestion is a good one and what I'd do.    Even on small wheels the area of tyre that needs to be inspected is huge; the tread  is over 1.25m long, and narrowing down the area where there might be something stuck in the tyre is a good move.

It is also possible for the tube to get pinched or the valve to be defective. If you have the twinwall Brompton rims you need to use good quality rim tape (eg velox); tapes that are thin, stretchy, or can moved around can give you incessant punctures.

Are you patching the tube or fitting a new one each time?

If the former, are you confident the repair is sound?

Had it checked maybe a rim tape issue.

Going to put some insulating tape around the rim.

A reasonable short-term bodge, but beware that it tends to stretch over time.
