We still don't have a kitchen, so probably another takeaway :(

Last nights red lentil and curry leaf soup (Madhur Jaffreys recipe...fantastic)

A bit of roast brill, mackerrel and sardines with some new potatoes, carrots and broccoli, washed down with some sauvignon blanc.

A little bit  of comte, crottin de chevignol, stilton and soft goats cheese with shallot accompanied by a small glass of Coteaux du Tricastin.

A little stewed apple (scrumped) with cinammon, molasses and sultanas.

A glass of Janneau armagnac.

All pretty much left-overs from the weekend.  Can't wait.

Pilaf - onions (except I don't have any), garlic, cumin, turmeric, rice, almonds, peas and stock, with purple sprouting broccoli.

Mystery Meat - which turned out to be a nice joint of beef, so it got slow-roasted and served with spuds, savoy cabbage, horseradish and lashings of gravy.

The cat got the defrosting juice and now loves me again.  :)

Back from hell Ikea.
Mmmm. Meatballs and chips with Lingonberry jam.
Mmmm again because they also had mazarin.

I bought a bottle of beer, some marinated herring and a box of mazarin.
Nothing that I had intended so I will need to go back.

On waking up at 1630 after FNRttC today, I realised I hadn't been 'proper' shopping since returning from holiday in Kernow last week.

So the trailer got coupled to the commuting bike, and off to Somerfields I trekked.

I am now unable to move, after an exceptional blow-out of home-made Spag. Bol. which has been simmering on the stove for an hour or so.

Nom Nom Nom. [/burp]
It is, in fact, the only meal I know how to cook.

Salmon last night, which turned out to be far more successful than expected. Such a simple dish but oh so tasty. Basically, it was a cherry tomato and potato salad (warm) with seared (fried) pieces of salmon on top. The flavour came from garlic, fresh basil, balsamic vinegar, a touch of honey, salt and pepper and lemon juice. Oh and olive oil in the dressing too. It was much more delicious that we thought it would be and only took thirty minutes from start to finish to prepare so we were just in time to watch the ToB.

Full on Roast. Chicken, roast tatties and an assortment of veggies. Rhubarb & Custard to follow. All home grown ('cept the Chicken).

Snap! Well except that none of it is home grown and we don't do puddings. In fact, apart from the chicken and spuds it's probably completely different.  ;D (Smells damn good at the moment though).

On the clubrun today, riding home at about 1pm we passed a Chinese takeaway that smelled gorgeous. So I had to cook something Chinesey tonight. I fancied going to town on this, so I bought some ginger, looking forward to its spicy warmth. Stir-fried my tofu, broccoli, peppers, shitake mushrooms and chillies, a splash of Kikkoman Soy Sauce... and forgot to put the ginger in. D'Oh!

Wabbit! In a white wine and thyme & cream sauce!

The downside was having to butcher the carcass into portions before breakfast this morning!  :-\

Probably rice and tomatoes and garlic and onion and capsicum and a bit of carrot and maybe some turmeric so I can say "yellow rice!"

Baked sweet potato with hummus and spinach, which is dull but tasty. Then I will have home-made blackberry and apple crumble with ice cream. I picked loads of wild blackberries yesterday so today I bought cooking apples to go with them.

tidying up the fridge tonight so beef & lentil curry and porky meatball pasta sauce are bubbling away on the cooker.

Not sure which we'll actually eat, I've just polished off half a jar of pickled onions and a nice bit of cheddar, so I'm not actually all that hungry any more...

I forgot to mention the basil leaves and paneer. Paneer even made Little Cudzo forget about cake - must be something good!
